💡✍️ADN #095: A Template For Tracking Your Songs
Sep 16, 2024Have you ever had to create a Schedule A for a publisher or record label?
If you have, then you know it can be tedious and time-consuming.
If you haven’t, your Schedule A accounts for all the songs and metadata you bring into a deal.
Song title, co-writers, PRO company names, % splits, art, audio, date of creation, etc.
When you sign your first publishing or record deal, you often turn over all of the songs you’ve written or recorded as your Schedule A.
Typically, this will be some years of material, written and recorded with many people in many locations.
If signing a publishing or record deal has been your goal, the last thing you want is not having a completed Schedule A.
Keeping tabs as you write, record, and release songs is much more manageable.
Here is a Schedule A template you can download.
Click “File.”
Then, select “Make A Copy.”
This can be used if you are a songwriter or an artist releasing masters.
When you’re ready, fill out each cell on the spreadsheet to gather all the songs you’ve written or recorded.
If you’re unfamiliar with some categories on the spreadsheet, here are links to explain the trickiest ones.
