“Ideas have people.”

The ideas you have and expand upon won’t come out the same as anyone else.

There may be similarities, but your sense of an idea’s meaning will differ.

Your experiences, age, location, and education influence how an idea finds you.

Your interests, attention, passion, and pursuits determine whether an idea is for you or someone else.

And timing is critical.

Some ideas hit you, and you know what to do with them.

When that happens, you attack the idea with an attitude, confidence, and swagger that you wouldn’t be able to if the idea is one you need to grow into.

The person with the drive and focus to turn an idea into action and get it across the finish line is the person meant for the idea.

Steve Jobs and Bill Gates created computer products simultaneously, but their visions came from different places, and therefore, their products had different strengths and weaknesses.

Nike’s pursuit of a generational athlete wasn’t realized until its vision found its person in Michael Jordan.

The same is true for songwriting.

If you give two artists the same title and chords, they will write two entirely different songs.

When swimming in a sea of ideas, search for the one you know what to do with.

The one that speaks to you like an old friend.

That embodies your vision for the future, and now that you’ve found the right idea, you can get lost in it like no one else can.

See you next week -
